The Hospital InnFamily Friendly • Rustic Warm Feel • Great Food • Traditional Features
The Hospital Inn is a large yet cosy bar situated in the town of Bamber Bridge, Preston. It is an imposing corner site on a busy road offering top quality food and premium drinks in a traditional environment that is complimented by a number of contemporary quirks.
As pub companies now rush to finalise plans before reopening on the 4th, please remember that not a single member of bar staff is suddenly an expert in disease control, politics or even the policies of their own Pub Co.
So when 20 of you show up to finally go out on the lash after 3 months of lockdown, it’s not the bar persons decision to tell you no, but they have to anyway.
When 6 of you try to book a meal because you’ve not seen your grandkids for 3 months, it’s not the manager’s fault group sizes are limited so don’t demand to see them and tell them they’re wrong.
BoJo is again relying on the “common sense of the people” (don’t get me started) so PLEASE remember that when pubs aren’t exactly how you remember them, or hoped they would be, we’ve all been in lockdown too. (we wont have a pool table when we reopen)
No, we can’t just move some tables together. No, we can’t turn a blind eye (you know, just this once). And no, a bad Trip Advisor review won’t help.
Things will get back to normal, just not straight away. Please be patient us. And show some common sense. Thanks.
We will be running with limited staff, reduced menu & specials boards and reduced opening hours.
In the next few days we will upload the menu, we may have the app up and running too.
Where possible we only want to accept card payments.
We will hopefully open on the 4th but again this is not set in stone.
Team Hospital Inn.

Welcome to The Hospital Inn, Bamber Bridge, Preston
In every town all inns or taverns have a long history. As a consequence, the name of our public houses have a diversity of historical value and origin.
The Hospital Inn reputedly offered cheer and hospitality to the injured soldiers of the Crimean War (1854-1856), en route to the infirmary. With anaesthetics still in their infancy, alcohol was the most common painkiller of the day.
Through the years, a succession of landlords and ladies have continued to provide quality sedation for both locals and travellers alike.
